Shared. Affordable.

Fair. Effective.

Safe Community Housing is a unique model seeking to address several challenges we face as a society.

Recent data shows a shortage of nearly 30,000 affordable housing units in Hamilton County and a shortage of just over 7 million units nationwide.

According to Census Bureau data collected in 2020,  27.6% of Americans live alone, up from 7.7% in 1940.

At the same time a recent Gallup poll reported 44 million Americans experience "significant loneliness", with the data showing young people and those with low incomes more likely to feel lonely.

Substance use disorders have an average relapse rate of 40-60%.

Recent research showed community style housing doubled the average length of sobriety after treatment from 7 months to 14 months.

Safe Community Housing seeks to build and expand upon other models often referred to as "sober living" or "transitional housing".

Some of the distinctions can be best understood by breaking down the word “SAFE” as an acronym.
